The GLC 43 Coupe is the performance-oriented version of the GLC, while the CLE Cabriolet will replace the C-class Cabriolet in Mercedes’ global line-up.
The CLE Cabriolet is being introduced in India for the first time. Currently, Mercedes-Benz has two cabriolets in its portfolio: the SL 55 and the E 53. The CLE Cabriolet will be Mercedes’ third convertible in India.
Both cars will arrive as CBUs (completely built-up units). However, the previous generation of the GLC 43 Coupe was locally assembled.
The CLE Cabriolet looks like its coupe sibling, featuring sleek LED headlights with a trapezoidal grille, a long bonnet and an automatic, multi-layered fabric hood.
Dimensionally, the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,861 mm in width, and 1,424 mm in height. It features a wheelbase of 2,865mm, offering more comfort to rear passengers.
The CLE Cabriolet is based on the Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform shared with the C-Class and upcoming E-Class.
On the inside, the CLE gets an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the center, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Mercedes-Benz India is yet to confirm the specific configurations and powertrains for the CLE Cabriolet.
The GLC 43 features the typical AMG design elements with a unique blend of sportiness and practicality with aggressive styling and larger alloy wheels.
The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe is now powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system. It delivers 415 BHP and 500 Nm. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels. The outgoing model offered the 3.0-liter bi-turbo with a six-cylinder engine.
The GLC 43 Coupe also offers rear-wheel steering, adjustable dampers, and performance brakes as standard.
